MLGCommercial.com The City of Kaukauna has sold the following parcels of land in Commerce Crossing, located at the Northwest corner of Hwy. 41 and State Hwy. 55 in Kaukauna, Wis.: Elite Mortgage Solutions, Inc. has purchased 1.37 acres in Commerce Crossing. JSonline.com Commerce Crossing Updates KAUKAUNA City officials are reviewing a local developer's plans to turn nearly 5.5 acres of land at Commerce Crossing into a strip mall.
Mayor Gene Rosin said Carl D. Romenesko is working with the city to buy lots at the property, previously known as the Fox Valley Greyhound Park, a 100-acre site north of U.S. 41 at State 55. Rosin said the mall could have up to 10 retailers and be completed in phases. Romenesko is in the process of finding tenants.
If plans are approved by the Plan Commission and Common Council, it would be located next to the Lazy Dog Sports Bar & Grill. The bar is under construction and is slated to open in mid-May.
The city began to sell land at Commerce Crossing in spring after a California Realtor developer's plans for a retail complex fell through.
A large portion of the land remains unsold, but marketing efforts continue. To date, Kaukauna has secured three other developments.
